How to plan a rocking cocktail party?

Cocktail parties are awesome in that they present the perfect opportunity for your friends to come together and have a blast! Cocktail parties were really popular during the 1900s but gradually became less as popular. Today, cocktail party cards are sent by brides-to-be and grooms-to-be before the big day. A cocktail party presents a wonderful opportunity for people to talk, dance and have fun with interesting people around them. Planning something similar? Here are a few tips to plan a rocking cocktail party.

Getting the basics right: Once you have all the basics in place, the second phase becomes simple. Find answers to simple questions like, how many people will attend the cocktail party? What design do you have in mind for your Cocktail Party Cards? How much do you plan on spending?

Fixing a date: Send out invitations well in advance so your guests will have time to contemplate and reply to your invitations. Your cocktail party cards should ideally reach your guests at least 2 weeks before the date.

Games are always great: Games help in breaking ice and setting the mood right for festivities. Plan a few simple games to get everyone involved and engaged.  Let your guests know that you have games on the cards. Since it’s a cocktail party, it does not hurt to have a few drinking games.

Location: Are you comfortable with guests tearing your home apart? Do you have enough space to handle the load of drunken guests? No worries if you have the proper space, if not, think about booking a space for the partying people.

Food: If there are cocktails there has to be some food too. Planning for a sit-in meal after drinks should not cost you a lot if you have the dishware and linens.  Nonetheless, consider the additional burden on your budget and make the necessary provision to arrange for food. Also, mention about food in your Cocktail Party Cards.
